🎥  Confederate Howard's Grove Hospital in Richmond

In 1869, the former Confederate Howard's Grove Hospital in Richmond was designated as a mental health hospital for African Americans, named Central Lunatic Asylum 

Richmond’s own River City Roller Derby is bringing its electrifying 3rd Annual People’s Battle of Richmond to the Greater Richmond Convention Center on October 11 and 12, 2025.

Seven teams will face off in nine intense games, with doors opening at 8:30 AM and games kicking off at 9:00 AM both days.

The action peaks with Saturday’s 7:00 PM showdown and Sunday’s 4:30 PM finale, followed by an enthusiastic awards ceremony.

Fans can enjoy food, drinks, and exclusive merchandise, plus raffles and exciting halftime entertainment—including a mechanical bull on Sunday.

Admission is just $25 for a weekend pass and $15 for single-day tickets, with kids 12 and under free—perfect for families.

Accessible seating, ample parking, and vendor activities make this a must-see local event.

Richmond welcomes the return of RVA Music Fest 2025 on Saturday, October 11, at the Dogwood Dell Amphitheater, from noon to 8:00 PM.
