Six Hornets Recognized for Excellence in Academics and Athletics |
The University of Lynchburg proudly announces that six of its student-athletes have been named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State Team for the 2024-25 academic year.
This recognition highlights their exceptional performance both in the classroom and in their respective sports.
The honored Hornets include:
Conner Harlacher, a senior from York, Pennsylvania, majoring in Exercise Physiology, representing men's lacrosse.
Jacob Hodnett, a senior from Cloverdale, Virginia, also majoring in Exercise Physiology, competing in men's cross country, track & field, and swimming.
Jenna Norko, a senior from Woodbridge, Virginia, pursuing a degree in Nursing, playing women's lacrosse.
Reese McAtee, a junior from Chesapeake, Virginia, majoring in Nursing, participating in women's tennis.
Alexandria Russell, a senior from Ocean City, Maryland, studying Exercise Physiology, involved in equestrian.
Reid Rouse, a junior from Greensboro, North Carolina, majoring in Business Administration, playing men's soccer.
To qualify for the VaSID Academic All-State Team, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher and be sophomores or above in academic standing.
Each institution in Virginia is permitted to nominate up to six student-athletes who meet these criteria.
In total, 216 student-athletes from 36 colleges and universities across the Commonwealth were recognized this year.
The six Lynchburg honorees achieved an impressive average cumulative GPA of 3.82, reflecting their dedication to academic excellence alongside their athletic commitments.
This achievement underscores the University of Lynchburg's commitment to fostering a balanced environment where student-athletes can excel both academically and athletically.
